For the purposes of understanding the proposed service, we will apply the concepts:

  • "vibration measurement" is a one-time measurement of vibration with the applicable standardization in ISO standards, in States’ and industry standards, and in the rules of classification societies;
  • "vibration diagnostics" is a one-time or multiple measurement of vibration data with the identification of defects and their type by pulses, spectra and using various techniques.

A significant difference for the purposes of understanding the service offered by our laboratory can be given to the concept of "VIBRATION MONITORING" – which has an expanded meaning of a permanent or repeatedly applied most characteristic method of vibration diagnostic research for a certain type of mechanism/unit using a Digital Health Vibro-Monitoring Set.

Measuring vibrations in rolling bearings allows you to identify defects such as backlash, damage to the raceways, destruction of the separator, jamming, which can lead to the destruction of the bearing and the failure of the entire mechanism.
Measuring vibrations in sliding bearings allows you to determine the wear of the liners, the presence of cracks, the destruction of the lubricating layer, which also leads to increased wear and failure of the mechanism.
Turbine vibration measurement is used to determine the condition of bearings, shaft, blades, as well as to detect malfunctions in the lubrication and control system.

Measuring the vibrations of pumping units and separators allows you to identify cavitation, imbalance, damage to mechanical parts, wear of bearings and seals.

Vibration measurement of air compressors and other types of compressor units is used to diagnose the condition of bearings, piston groups, valves, as well as to identify malfunctions in the lubrication and cooling system.

Vibration diagnostics of internal combustion engines (ICE) is a more complex process than diagnostics of bearings due to the presence of reciprocating and rotating parts of the mechanism, which requires periodic monitoring, which allows you to diagnose malfunctions in the lubrication system, balancing, injection system, detect unacceptable detonations, as well as detect mechanical damage (cracks, wear). In accordance with Class rules, vibration measurement of ship mechanisms should be carried out after the modernization of ships in service — when replacing the main and auxiliary engines, generators and other mechanisms of main purpose.

Vibration diagnostics is carried out in order to control the technical condition of the elements of hull structures (the outer shell plating, structural members, ect.) and main and auxiliary mechanisms.
